Representatives of the Gorsemoor school council attended the annual Parish Meeting on Wednesday 3rd April. This was an opportunity for the children to share how our school has been taking an active role in the local community by contributing to events throughout the year. During the meeting, we were lucky to be awarded with a cheque for £500 from the Local Parish Council, which will be used to improve the school’s outdoor area.
Ray Smythe from the Local Parish Council said the following:
“I would like to say that out of the 24 I have been Clerk for, this was for me, the most enjoyable. It was nice to hear from the grant recipients and I think Gorsemoor School stole the show with their impressive presentations from four pupils. Not only were their stories a great insight into what the school has done, but it clearly showed the children themselves were confident, clear and very well prepared.”
As a school we are incredibly proud of our school council who continue to excel in positively contributing to our local community.
