Our Approach to Early Years Education

At Gorsemoor, we believe that the purpose of education is to equip young learners with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Our goal is to build character, instill a love of learning, and provide knowledge for its intrinsic value while preparing children for their future lives.

In Early Years, we set the foundation for this journey. As the starting point of a child’s education, we inspire curiosity, engagement, and a lifelong passion for learning. We are committed to providing a strong foundation of knowledge that empowers children with the skills needed for future success. Through a rich and stimulating curriculum—delivered through play, structured adult-led activities, and high-quality direct teaching in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics—we nurture independent, confident, and resilient learners.

Our Nursery Provision

We welcome children into our nursery at various points throughout the academic year, subject to availability. We encourage families to visit our setting, explore our learning environment, and meet our dedicated nursery team to gain an insight into our provision in action.

Nursery Places for 3-4 Year Olds

All children aged three and four are entitled to 15 hours of funded nursery provision from the term after their third birthday. For families who require additional hours, some may be eligible for 30 hours of funded provision. Children may also join our nursery before this on a paid placement.
