Safe Adults
If you want to ask an adult for help, make sure it's someone you trust and feel safe with. They might have helped you with something before.
They could be a:
- parent or carer
- teacher
- aunt, uncle, grandparent or different family member
- friend's parent
- school nurse or counsellor
- religious leader or sports coach.
It can feel scary to tell someone what's happening, but you have the right to feel safe and happy. You do not have to go through this alone – try talking to an adult you feel safe with. Talking can make you feel better, and an adult might be able to help. You can talk to them about what you would like to happen next.

Online Safety
Here at Gorsemoor we teach you about Online Safety using the Education for a Connected World framework. We ensure you gain the relevant knowledge and skills to stay safe in a digital world by learning about online safety at every opportunity. This will help you be safe in a digital world.
- Always be careful when you are using the internet. It can help you to keep in touch with your friends and help your education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others.
- Remember help is always available at school if you are having any problems online.
- Don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher or another adult at school.
Try the Digital 5 a Day Challenge

The 5 A Day advice is:
- Connect: Message, have fun and play with friends and family both online and offline.
- Be active: Take some time off and get active - movement helps boost emotional wellbeing.
- Get creative: Don’t just browse the internet but use digital tools to create content, to build new skills and discover new passions.
- Give to others: Be positive online, report bad content and help others to balance their own 5-a-day.
- Be mindful: If time online is causing stress or tiredness then take some time off and ask for help when you need it.

Tips for staying safe online:
- Make sure you keep new online friends strictly online. If someone you don't know asks to be your online friend you must ensure an adult knows about it.
- Know how to use the CEOP Button and how to report it to the CEOP Centre if you are concerned about someone’s online behaviour towards you.
