In Year 1 and Year 2, children were taught how we are all different and unique, and how diversity plays its role in modern Britain.
The pupils in Year 3 and Year 4 focused on the Protected Characteristics and how to challenge behaviour that undermines them.
In Year 5 and Year 6, our pupils understood the meaning of discrimination, how it can affect different groups of people, and what they can do to stand up to any form of injustice.
It is our mission to live and breathe our character virtues through our school community, relationships and ethos. This is why it is so important to us here at Gorsemoor to celebrate moments when character is caught by our pupils, staff, families, governors, visitors and wider community!
Take a look at some lovely feedback we have had...
'School staff have worked hard to develop an Inclusive approach to support the ever-changing needs of children joining the school. The school’s moto of ‘Growing together, Hand in Hand’ represents the strong bond between the school and its community and aims to inspire everyone to grow together to create an atmosphere that will give all children the best education possible. Expectations within the school are high and staff are dedicated to providing a culture where personal and social development is fully embedded.' - Inclusion Quality Mark Assessor
Our extra-curricular activities at Gorsemoor enable inclusivity to be sought throughout the year! From our 'Religion in Focus' days, to working alongside different charitable organisations, to hosting events for different groups in our local community, we ensure that inclusivity is woven into our ethos, culture and relationships.
