    Early Years Open Evening 2026

    Wednesday 4th November 2026 - 4:00pm–5:30pm

We are delighted to welcome prospective families to our Gorsemoor Primary School Open Evening.

Whether your child is ready to take their first steps into our Leaflings Nursery from age two, is looking ahead to our Pre-School Nursery from age three, or is preparing to begin their Reception journey, our Open Evening is a wonderful opportunity to come and discover what makes Gorsemoor such a special place to learn and grow.

    Come and discover Gorsemoor

During the evening, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Explore our school and Early Years learning environments
    • Visit our Nursery and Reception classrooms
    • Meet members of our welcoming Early Years and school team
    • Find out more about our curriculum and approach to learning
    • Discover how we support children to become confident, curious and independent learners
    • See the spaces and experiences we provide to help children develop from their very first steps in school
    • Experience school meals with our tasting menu
    • Ask questions about starting Nursery or Reception and life at Gorsemoor

At Gorsemoor, we believe that every child deserves to feel known, valued and cared for. From the age of two, we provide children with opportunities to explore, play, discover and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our Early Years provision is a place where children can be curious, take risks, build relationships, develop independence and grow in confidence. Through purposeful play, rich experiences and high-quality interactions, we nurture the foundations for future learning.

    Nursery at Gorsemoor

Our Nursery provision welcomes children from age two through to the end of their Nursery year.

Leaflings provides a nurturing start for our youngest children from age two, offering a carefully considered environment where children can develop their independence, communication and confidence through play and exploration.

Lotus welcomes our three- and four-year-olds, building on these foundations and preparing children for a successful transition into Reception.

During the Open Evening, you will be able to find out more about our Nursery places, funded hours, sessions and what a typical day looks like for our youngest learners.

    Starting Reception

For families looking ahead to Reception, our Open Evening is an opportunity to discover how we support children as they make the transition from Nursery or their previous setting into full-time school.

You will be able to explore our Reception classrooms, meet our team and learn more about our curriculum, routines, learning environments and the experiences we provide to help children settle, flourish and become confident members of our school community.

Reception applications for September 2027 open on Monday 2nd November 2026.

Please note that attending Gorsemoor Nursery does not automatically secure a Reception place. Families must apply for a Reception place through Staffordshire County Council.

    Little Leaders, Big Tomorrow
