Welcome to Computing at Gorsemoor
It is our belief, that the purpose of education is to provide young people with the knowledge and skills to prepare children for their working lives, build character, teach knowledge for its own intrinsic value and ignite a love of learning. We believe Computing achieves this by offering project based learning, allowing the children to explore deeper learning, up-skill and combine knowledge for a wider purpose. Therefore, preparing our children to be competent and resilient Digital Natives in the 21st Century. As children develop in a digital society we aim to foster computational thinking and the abilities to access, combine and retrieve a range of media. Leaving them well prepared to be independent, resourceful and critical thinkers within a technological environment and beyond.
Here at Gorsemoor we are working towards a technology infused curriculum where digital competencies are applied to further enhance all aspects of our high quality education for children. Creating opportunities to embed our computing curriculum through knowledge rich digital opportunities.
Growing together to be creative, literate and safe digital pioneers.

At Gorsemoor we are still providing the children with a broad and balanced curriculum despite COVID 19 restrictions. Within computing the children have access to virtual coding clubs, virtual field trips and interviews with STEM ambassadors and access to a breadth of technology. Our resources enable the children to access a range of devices including one to one laptops and chrome books for lessons in line with social distancing.
We are also investing in new technology that will further enhance technology across the wider curriculum and support interactive learning in line with our risk assessment and government restrictions.
