Funded and fee paying information for parents
Funded education for all 3 and 4 year olds
The Government provides 15 hours of universal funding for ALL three and four year old children during term time. The funding will start the term after the child’s third birthday.
Parents DO NOT need to apply for this entitlement but should contact their preferred provider directly.
The date you can claim your child’s funded place, will depend on when your child’s birthday is:
Child’s Birthday | When you can claim |
1 January to 31 March | The beginning of term on or after 1 April (Summer Term) |
1 April to 31 August | The beginning of term on or after 1 September (Autumn Term) |
1 September to 31 December | The beginning of term on or after 1 January (Spring Term) |
30 hours funded education for 3 and 4 year olds:
Working families with children aged 3 & 4 years may now be able to benefit from an additional 15 hours of funded childcare, which therefore entitles their child to 30 hours of funded education.
You can usually get 30 hours free childcare if you (and your partner, if you have one) are in work for 16 hours a week and earning at least £120 a week but no more than £100,000 each a year. You must make the application the term before you wish to start receiving funding and you can apply up to 16 weeks before your child turns three. Hours can start at the beginning of the next term following a YES confirmation from HMRC. If you are eligible for these extra hours, you will receive an 11 digit reference code to pass onto your provider, along with your National Insurance number and child’s birth certificate, and reserve your child’s place. You will need to reconfirm your eligibility every three months.
For further details and to check your eligibility, please visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk . You can also ring the childcare service helpline on 0300 123 4097. Parents MUST make their own application and if eligible complete a Parental Declaration Form available from school. Please also let us know on this form if your child is eligible for Early Years’ Pupil Premium. Children will be eligible if their parents receive benefits used to access eligibility for free school meals. If you complete the EYPP section, with parent NI number and date of birth, school can make the application for you. This money is paid directly to school to help support your child.
Non-Funded Places for 3 and 4 year olds:
For children who are not entitled to the additional funded hours, we do have an hourly charge rate so that your child can access additional sessions within the nursery. Our daily rate for 3 and 4 year olds are as follows:
- £18 per session (£18 for a morning and £18 for an afternoon).
- £4 for lunchtime supervision (with sandwiches from home) – A lunch club charge is applicable for all children accessing 30 hours provision as this is additional time each day.
All payments are paid weekly through Parent Pay.
